Čari kuvanja za Brižit i pse

Frédéric Van Coppernolle je kuvar u konzulatu Francuske u Njujorku. (I ne samo to!).

Kad je imao 15 godina (1980. godine) proveo je neko vreme u kući Brižit Bardo gde je njegova baka kuvala za Brižit i životinje, a on joj pomagao.
Kaže da mu je to bio divan period, a Brižit Bardo, iako je tada imala 45 godina, i dalje bila neverovatno lepa, posebno kad se smejala i bila raspoložena. Što se, međutim, nije
dešavalo toliko često. O svemu ovome ima presladak text u vikend izdanju Njujork Tajmsa.

Na primer, Frederik reši da peca.

"There was the day, for instance, when I was fishing off her dock, using a simple line and a hook baited with a paste of gruyere and bread. Bardot suddenly appeared, berating me. The fish, she said, knew this was her house, and if they found themselves on the point of a hook they would feel betrayed. That’s exactly what she said “betrayed.” But it would be O.K. if I fished somewhere beyond the wall, off her property. Which I did, hooking the fish just as successfully, regardless of what they might have thought."

Hrana i temperament

"Despite Bardot’s strict anti-meat rules (vegetarianism was then almost unheard-of in France), Grandmother turned out a restaurant menu’s worth of dishes: onion tarts, ratatouille, pizzas, vegetable-and-cheese quiches.(...) When Grandmother cooked for Bardot, it was always with her own sense of dread because Bardot could be so relentlessly difficult."

Za pse se kuvala posebna hrana. Za razliko od dive, njima je redovno spremano meso, često piletina, koja se odvajala od kostiju i spremala sa povrćem. A kako je teklo serviranje:

"The plates were taken out to the patio and all 13, if possible, would be placed on the ground simultaneously. This prevented chaos. If only one or two hit the ground first, the pack would leap on them and we would have a riot on our hands."

U serviranju su učestvovali BB, kuvarica, mladi pomoćnik, i gosti.

Brižit Bardo je proteklih godina bila u prepisci sa Radmilom Hrustanović i Borisom Tadićem kojima je pisala zahtevajući da se prekine ubijanje pasa lutalica. Ove godine najviše je bila u štampi, i ovde i drugde, kada se pominjla šezdeseta godišnjica bikinija, čiji je ona jedan od najsajnijih simbola.
